Islamabad-Ministry of Labour & Manpower has upgraded all secondary schools for the children of workers, working under its control in all provinces, to the intermediate level.
An official source told APP that students would be able to get education in science and technical subjects at these institutions, which would help them earn their livelihoods. He said the ongoing projects for the welfare of labourers would be completed soon.
To a question, he informed that latest machinery is being used by the contractors for the projects’ completion, adding that transparency would be observed in the whole process.
He said a minimum of 50 per cent of the widow applicants would be provided with sewing machines.
He further said that several projects in Sindh are not being completed as per schedule. The labour minister in a recent meeting emphasised upon the concerned authorities to complete the projects within time, he added.
