The prospectus and Admission Form are available at the College’s Admission Office, Admission Office Bahria University Islamabad Campus and Rs. 2000. Requests by mail should be addressed to the Admission Office and accompanied by a bank draft of Rs. 2200 payable to Bahria University. Overseas and foreigner candidates are required to enclose a bank draft of US$100 on any bank that has a branch in Karachi or Islamabad. Cheques and postal orders are not accepted. International applicants who wish to join BUMDC are advised to initiate the process well in advance. This will allow them time to understand the eligibility requirements in Pakistan and to complete them well before the last date of admission.
Eligibility For Overseas / Foreign Candidates
No admission shall be given without an admission entry test or SAT II score of 550 marks. Only those Pakistani national students and foreigners have obtained the required qualifications for the entry test from abroad, shall be eligible for admission on the foreign seats and shall either have to appear in the entry test or present the university the requisite SAT score.
The students who are residing abroad or who have achieved their qualifications required for the entry test from abroad shall be eligible for being considered for admission on the normal seats and shall be eligible to appear in the entry test if they have passed three science subjects out of which two have to be Biology and Chemistry. The Candidates having minimum SAT II score of 550 marks shall be exempted from the entry test and shall be required to appear only in the interview.
TOFEL or IELT score of 500 or 5.5 shall be required from the students who have obtained their required qualifications from those institutions where the medium of instruction for these qualifications is not English. An alternate to TOEFL and IELT is a certification by NUML, Islamabad after a one year English language course.
The academic requirements for admission are prescribed by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, and must be fulfilled. That stipulates a combination of Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC). International applicants must ensure that they have taken this combination before contacting the BUMDC Admission Office, as there is no flexibility on this requirement.
The Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) translates foreign qualifications into Pakistani equivalents. It has its own requirements to be met and it can take time. It is the applicants’ responsibility to obtain the Equivalence Certificate before an offer of admission can be formalized. All applicants will be required to take the college entry test. The entry test is an essential segment of the admission process. As an alternate Overseas and Foreign Candidates having minimum SAT II score 550 marks are exempted for entry test and shall be required to appear in the interview. The entry test is conducted on-campus, or at locations as advertised.
The test encompasses questions on Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English (HSSC level). The duration of the test is 2 hours, and the format is a series of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) on each subject. Before the test, each applicant is sent an Entry Test Card, which outlines the necessary instructions. Candidates are not allowed to enter the exam hall without this Card. The results of the entry test are subsequently made available on the website.
The final merit list is based on the following criteria as per PMDC admission policy:
- Entry Test 50%
- HSSC / Equivalent 40%
- SSC / Equivalent 10%
Note: The entry test is conducted in Biology,Chemistry, Physics and English Scores are calculated on the basis of the following weightages out of total 200 MCQs:

- Chemistry 50
- Physics 40
- English 10
Interviews are part of verification of original credentials, meeting with candidates and his / her parents / guardian. Applicants are cautioned that interviews, although held towards the end of the admission process, are only one component of the whole process and contribute a small weightage to the cumulative merit. It is very rare that a candidate is rejected on the basis of his/her interview.
The relative weightages of all the components of the admission process are added up to prepare the final merit list. The top applicants on the merit list are invited, in writing, to join the first-year MBBS class. No formal waiting list is announced, but all the remaining applicants stay on the waiting list. Any dropouts from the class are replaced by candidates on the waiting list, according to merit, before commencement of classes.
Confirmation of Admission
Selected students are required to confirm their intent to join the college by depositing the college fees, within the stipulated period. If a seat in the first-year class is not confirmed by this date, it is offered to the next person on the waiting list. No further claim of admission by the incumbent applicant is valid in such an eventuality.
