NUST Admission 2013 for Undergraduate Programs

National University of Sciences and Technology NUST University  Islamabad has invited the Application for the Admission Undergraduate Programs 2013 spring semester. MUST adopts new system of admission in Undergraduate Programs. The salient features of the new system are:

  • The process of entrance test is relinked from admission process.
  • During an admission cycle, candidates can appear in entrance test more than once to improve their score, and apply for admission separately on the basis of best score when applications are invited tentatively in May-June.
  • There will be two types of entrance tests:
    • Computer Based
    • Paper Based
    • Computer based entrance tests for all disciplines will be held in multiple
      sessions at NUST Campus Islamabad according to the following schedule:
    • First Session (NET 1)              April-May
    • Second Session (NET2)          June-July
  • Paper based entrance test will be conducted in Karachi and Quota only once in July.
  • In July session candidates will have an option either to appear in Paper Based Test or Computer Based Test at Islamabad.
  • In Computer based Entrance Test, candidates can choose the date and session of test according to their convenience.
  • Online Registration Form for NET 1 and NET 2 will be available on NUST website www.nust.edu.pk tentatively in r week of March and 1′ week of May 2013 respectively.
  • Candidates must be in possession of CNIC or Form B or NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis).
  • Admission process for all undergraduate programs is conducted Once a year to facilitate commencement of academy year in Fall.

Eligibility & Ineligibility Criteria

Eligibility:

  • For admission in NUST, eligibility criteria is strictly followed.
  • A minimum of 60% aggregate marks each in Matric and FSc / FA / equivalent exams is required.
  • O & A level and other non-FSc stream candidates need to obtain equivalence certificates from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Pakistan.

Engineering:

FSc (Pre-engineering group) from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education or an equivalent qualification like Overseas High School Certificate / British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) / International Baccalaureate / Advanced Placement with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Candidates with FSc / equivalent qualification with the combination of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Studies or Computer Science can only apply for Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Telecommunication Engineering.

BS Computer Science

FSc (Pre-engineering Group / Computer Science Group) from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education or an equivalent qualification like Overseas High School Certificate / British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) / International Baccalaureate / Advanced Placement with Physics, Computer Science / Computer Studies and Mathematics.

MBBS / BDS

FSc (Pre-medical Group) from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education OR an equivalent qualification like A level or any other foreign qualification with three (3) subjects out of which Biology and Chemistry are essential subjects.
Marital status: Unmarried

Applied Bio sciences

FSc (Pre-medical Group) from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education OR an equivalent qualification like A level or any other foreign qualification with three (3) subjects out of which Biology and Chemistry are essential subjects.

Business Studies & Social Sciences

Intermediate or an equivalent qualification, such as an Overseas High School Certificate / British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) / International Baccalaureate / Advance Placement.

Natural Sciences (BS Mathematics)

Intermediate or equivalent qualification, such as an Overseas High School Certificate / British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) / International Baccalaureate / Advance Placement (with Mathematics) is required.

Architecture and Industrial Design

FSc (Pre-Engineering OR Computer Science Group / Equivalent OR any combination with Physics and Mathematics) is required.
Note:

  • Candidates of FA/ FSc stream can apply for the NUST Entrance Test on the basis of FA / FSc Part-I but the confirmation of their admission is subject to provision of FA / FSc certificate or Detailed Marks Certificate (with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks) before the commencement of the relevant program of study.
  • Candidates of O/A Level stream can apply on the basis of O Level equivalence certificate from IBCC, but the confirmation of their admission is subject to provision of A Level equivalence certificate.
  • Candidates of MBBS / BDS / Bio sciences programs must enter their complete FSc or equivalent exam marks in online application form.

 Ineligibility Criteria

Candidates with any of the following deficiencies are NOT eligible to apply for admission in UG programs:

  • Having secured less than 60% marks in Matric and FA / FSc.
  • Having failed / not appeared in any subject in FA / FSc Part-I / II.
  • Having secured less than 60% marks in O/A level as per the equivalence certificate issued by IBCC.
  • In case of O & A level / equivalent foreign qualification, those not in possession of valid O level or equivalent qualification certificate issued by IBCC at the time of applying to NUST.
  • Female candidates are not eligible to apply for Aerospace, Avionics and Civil Engineering at Risalpur campuses.
  • Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for any undergraduate program.

Submission of SAT Results

SAT scores should reach NUST from College Board, USA by July 15, 2013. It is the responsibility of the candidate to provide SAT scores by due date.

 Selection of Candidates

Selection of candidates for Engineering / Computer Science / Mathematics / Business Studies / Social Sciences /  Architecture and Industrial Design will start from August 2013 and for MBBS / BDS / Applied Biosciences from October 2013 as per given dates.
