LAHORE: Punjab University here Wednesday awarded PhD degree to Shameem Ahmad Siddiqui son of Nafees Ahmad Siddiqui in the subject of Biochemistry after approval of his research thesis entitled “Role of Glucose and Insulin Resistance in the Development of Non-Insulin Dependent (Type 2) Diabetes Mellitus and Characteristic of Associate Health Risk in Pakistan.” He completed his thesis under the supervision of PU Institute of Biochemistry & Biotechnology Director Prof Dr Muhammad Waheed Akhtar, while Dr Abdul Majeed Cheema.
