The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has raided the office of a travel agency, arrested its owner, and seized forged documents. The FIA seized a large number of passports, photocopies and original national identity cards, forged stamps of embassies, banks, doctors and officers, cheque books, bank statements, sponsor letters, letters of admission to foreign universities, work permits, letterheads of government departments, fake letters of embassies and international organisations, and other forged documents. Sources in the FIA said FIA Punjab Director Azam Joiya received an application from one Musaddiq Hussain.
The complainant said the travel agency, located in a trade centre in Gulberg, had profited by promising to send people abroad on student visa and work permits. He said if the office was raided, a large number of forged documents used to send people abroad could be seized from there. An FIA team raided the agency, and arrested its owner, Asif Javed. A case No 323/09 has been registered against Javed in the FIA Anti Human Trafficking Circle Police Station for keeping people’s passports and identity cards without explanation, and for forging documents.
